I've experienced most of these fairly recently. Some grocery stores still have baggers, I've never had anyone walk them out to my car. I've been shopping and still have people start fitting rooms for me. There are still full-serve gas stations, I just don't use them. And I've been to nice restaurants that still do all of this. Maybe you just need to get out more? |
1st paragraph: have you ever shopped at Moms? They will do that. 2nd: shop at Bloomingdales or Saks not Target 3rd: a few states still have that service, visit or move there. 4th: you want a server getting near your lap? no thanks. plenty of restaurants still bring bread and won't rush. you need to get out more. |
I don't want waitstaff laying my napkin across my lap, but some of you are acting like they're going to be smoothing it out and tucking it in like a diaper. It's unnecessary, but not sexually violating. |
I definitely miss cashiers and baggers. I hate hate hate self check out. It’s a huge pain when you have a lot of items. |
Trader joes will bag for you if you're not there at a peak time
Nordstroms attendants obsessively check if you need a room and check on you (evereves also...those are the only 2 stores I really shop in in person so don't know about others) I rarely have to ask for a refill of water at a restaurant of any level So......go to the places that still offer those services? they exist. some people prefer the cost cutting approaches which is cool, but you can't have it both ways of stuff as cheap as possible and extra labor around |
