How to create a “spike”

If a kid's spike is being a well-rounded generalist then that is not going to assist with getting into a top top college. But maybe that's as it should be because why would they want to be surrounded by all the spikey super geeks if they are not that way.

Your kid needs to play a sport really well. Really, really well. It helps. The T20 SLACs will need to see they meet their basic criteria but the process is much more transparent (not easier - athletes probably spend more time talking to coaches than others spend on applications).

I don’t know how non athletes do it.

Pretty hard to reach a recruitable level in 18 months for any sport.

Why? If a kid is interested and ambitious and a parent wants to help them, I don’t see a problem.
