The obvious thing limiting her options is that the Spirit didn’t think she was good enough to offer her a contract. That’s after watching her up close for years. International is a possibility or maybe the other local pro team DC Power. Is college still an option or did she become ineligible when she signed a pro contract.

Not getting a Spirit contract doesn't end her career. It just means she wasn't the right fit for them. There are many athletes who find more success with their 2nd or 3rd team than with the team they started with.

I believe playing in college is no longer and option but with all the changes lately, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a way for her to eligible to play NCAA.

Maybe someone who is up to date with he College NIL rules can chime in...but I think pro athletes can now play in College under NIL rules this year?

There is always the USL... much lower level "pro" but she can keep playing. And go to college part time.

USL-W and some college kids and lower level pro clubs. It can be a grind for new pro players to find the right fit. Lots of turnover.

Like many soccer parents they were told and believed she was better than she actually was. But my daughter is different.

Listened to an interesting podcast the other week. USL has very limited funds and attendees at games. It won't be around long. They need to get in quick before they need to "retire"

Like many soccer parents they were told and believed she was better than she actually was. But my daughter is different.

This player is still on the Spirit roster, practicing and did play, score a goal in that match against the Central American club ... Yes, she's not starting/second string but she clearly got game for a young player. We should wish her well wherever she lands next.
