Here's the extended clip: https://metro.co.uk/2024/01/23/donald-trump-death-penalty-slurs-new-hampshire-video-20162069/ He goes on to say that the only countries that don't have a drug problem are those that impose the death penalty on drug dealers. |
He’s been doing it for months now. It just hasn’t been getting much coverage. But now the primaries are here and the media is putting it on TV again. |
The thread title is perfect because he’s going to blather on and make mistakes like this every day so we can keep highlighting them. Forget sundown, it’s like 11 pm in his brain right now. |
It gives me a tiny kernel of hope that maybe he will finally be unmasked and enough voters who were considering him will reconsider. It’s absolute madness to believe that he can safely run this country again – –even if you hate the other side. |
I hate to be a pessimist, but millions of voters have been waiting for something to finally unmask/expose/undo Trump for 8.5 years and it hasn't happened yet. The only thing that has worked is voting him out of office and I think that's the only thing that's going to work this time around as well (not out of office, of course). I'd say the only shot is a truly lunatic level meltdown, but I'm skeptical that would even have an effect. Watch the news anchor in that clip. She keep interrupting Sununu with inane statements to break Sununu's momentum and to try to turn him back to the party line. It's crazy. And people are mainlining that crazy 24/7/365. |
It’s been pretty clear that there’s never going to be a “WE GOT HIM!!!” (tm John Oliver) moment, but this is the kind of thing that siphons off people who voted for him before but aren’t his superfans, or motivates people who didn’t much care before but find this alarming. It’s all about the margins since there’s definitely not a hook that’s ever going to pull him off the stage. |
| The hook that pulls him off the stage will be a coronary. |
PP here. I agree with the siphoning off theory, just not any theory that involves drama. I think it's very possible that we have a lower turnout than in 2020 and Biden wins by similar margins. I do think there will be pockets of violence afterward, but there won't be the same energy as in 2020 among the elected GOP. If Trump wins, no violence, but a lot of shock. |
| Like a mobster... |
This makes my brain hurt.
|
Mine, too. I hate the guy but I don’t like watching him become cheese either. The GOP just couldn’t ever take the off ramp with this guy and we’re all stuck paying for it. |
| This is just like Mitch McConnell. I despise him too, but I don't want to see him losing it in front of crowds either. That's just sad. At least Bruce Willis' family has the good sense to keep him home and actually care for him. The kids will be parading Donald around as long as they can. Honestly if he won I'm betting we'd see multiple speeches the first year about what he'd do when he's elected. It's just plain sad. |
