You are correct, though OP is looking for safeties. If a student with a 1500 doesn't get in, it isn't going to be a safety for the 1200 kid either (even though the 1200 kid might indeed get admitted and the 1500 kid might not). |

I don’t know how your daughter might feel about attending a single-sex school, but Smith College has a great engineering program and an acceptance rate of 30%. I don’t know if it would be a safety, but 1/4 of the kids admitted have an SAT score that is less than 1370. Maybe worth looking into?

Lafayette would be a reach w/ these stats I think. Definitely not a safety. Try York College. |
SLO is an excellent school for engineering. Where have you been? But, agree it is much harder to get in OOS. |
