do you disposable people realize that for solid poops there are diaper liners? all we're left with is a poop stain and I bet you've washed those in your machines before.

I normally grab a pair of scissors and cut the entire outfit off and throw it int he trash. I only salvage if the outfit is something special.

I cannot wrap my head around poop fill diapers in my washing machine. If we went cloth I'd have to use a service and then wonder if they are really sterilizing the diapers. All around gross.

I'd wonder too. All these women seem really nonchalant about their practices, but really it is quite unsanitary. I wonder if it is just one or two posters making a stink? Ha ha ha . . . making a stink.

OP -- (is that you, Kathleen? Cause I saw this posted on a bunch of listservs I'm on, almost verbatim.) You seem to be spreading the word farrrrr and wide. I know you have thought long and hard about your choices and think you have made the right ones and think it's helpful to tell everyone else about your beliefs, but it starts to feel like an evangelist persistently knocking at your door and harassing you when you're just trying to get through the day. Pampers are burning your babies, snacks are poisoning your kids, sunscreens are killing them... the drama.

I was with my mother at the laundromat back in the 1970s. I remember sitting and waiting for our turn to use a machine, and a woman ahead of us was loading her laundry into a machine. She dropped something on the ground, and it was a dirty diaper. It stuck to the ground. When she picked it up, there was crap stuck to the floor. She then took another piece of clothing from her basket, wiped up the floor, and threw it in the washing machine.

She was the first person done with her laundry, but no one waiting for a machine was willing to go after her.

When I think of people washing diapers in their washing machines, this is what I think of. If you are going to do it, why not even try to clean it out after?
