Recommendations for schools within 3 hours of NoVa for my (below?) average kid?

Good luck to your DD. We looked at a lot of the schools on your list. My DD had a slightly higher gpa but low test scores and she applied test optional. I think you may have a chance with JMU if she applies EA but may depend on major.
