Why does MCPS think it can hide and lie its way out of problems? Looks like there are plenty of skeletons left in the closet related to the Beidleman scandal. And if McKnight is deposed, all bets are off cause she made it clear she has ammo on the board. And it looks like Smondrowski in particular is in danger since she's the only board member named on the deposition list. |
Did we think that that was it? A mil package was the end of this? Students are affected because of all this. Shameful, MCPS. |
Ugh. The real board members of Potomac, err Rockville. |
I honestly did think this was the end but good ol’ Joel is not backing down it seems. |
How do you know that McKnight has ammo on the board? When did she say that? |
Maybe the post above yours is from someone who knew/knows what was happening? |
If McKnight is compelled to talk in court, she would have to disclose her knowledge/timeline on the Beidleman and the investigation. I think she probably has more to hide than the board. Hopefully, the school district doesn't have to pay any of her legal fees if she is brought in for testimony. |
A couple of things: When Monifa drew her claws and went straight to the media with her lawyer, she made it clear she felt the board was engaging in racism/discrimination and/or wrongful termination. https://www.fox5dc.com/news/mcps-superintendent-dr-monifa-mcknight-breaks-silence-amidst-boards-request-for-her-resignation
Furthermore, she deployed her most direct threats and attacks to her supporters, such as the NAACP, who claimed on her behalf that the board was being hypocritical and was at least equally as guilty for the sins of MCPS and McKnight. Oh, and that the board hadn't held previous superintendents to the standard they were holding McKnight too: https://mocoshow.com/2024/01/30/naacp-writes-letter-to-board-of-education-in-support-of-superintendent-monifa-mcknight/
Then, the fact that both McKnight and the board agreed to mutually not disparage each other in the separation agreement lets you know that the board feels McKnight could've said things that would have damaged them. If they felt she had nothing and they were justified in terminating her, they wouldn't have included that clause and been so generous with her settlement. https://moco360.media/2024/03/15/mcps-to-pay-mcknight-1-3-million-in-separation-agreement/

What is a MIL package? |
$1.3 million, to be exact. I also don't buy McKnight's threatening the board with accusations of racism. That's typical McKnight gaslighting. |
When you get tired of your wife's mother. |
I didn’t read the article this way. I read it as Jane Doe’s lawyer is deposing all of those people on the list including McKnight and the current Farquhar AP. Curious who the non leadership employees are. |
I feel bad that these teachers, who suffered so much under Beidleman, have to fight tooth and nail to get a settlement from MCPS. Talk about the people who should really have gotten the fat McKnight pay-out. |
Correct. The fact that anyone who wants justice and accountability from MCPS have to go to the press or the courts is a sign of how corrupt and dysfunctional the school system is. You literally have to force them to do the right thing. Why? It shouldn't be this hard. |
All they're going to find out if this was a big frame-up to oust McKnight. |
