Why am I seeing baby grasshoppers in my bathroom sink upstairs?

I’m not on a well of any sort and I’m the city on sewer not septic.

Any idea?

When a boy grasshopper loves a girl grasshopper....

They're probably living in your basement or came through an open window or door.

Are you sure they not another type of bug?

Are they crickets, not grasshoppers? Crickets love damp spaces.

Op here. The tiny green ones, the ones always outside in the summer that are the size of small-ish gnats.

There’s a bathroom on the floor beneath closer to the ground with absolutely no issues.

Do you have a kid who likes bugs?

NP here and that was my thought.
Several years ago I found my cat proudly sitting in our front hall with a praying mantis she had just killed. She is an indoor only cat and I had no idea how a praying mantis could have come in our house.
Finally about a year ago, my kid admitted he had ordered praying mantis eggs from Amazon (using a gift card his grandpa had given him for Christmas) and had been hatching praying mantes under his bed.

Op here. No, I don’t. Though PP your story has me laughing. I would assume or expect this to be a downstairs issue but could it be possible for bugs to come in from the pipes even if they go upstairs?
