Tours in Split, Croatia

Please recommend some tour agencies in Split-we want to day 1-2 day tours. I always found Viator to be overpriced.
Also any restaurant recommendations would be great. Traveling with two teens. Thanks!

Just walk around on your own. It's not that big. Read about about the history.

Ooh the food in Split was great (much better than Dubrovnik which is overrun with cruise ship visitors). It’s been a while since we visited so not sure our reccs would still work but will try to remember the names.

I actually find tours is one of the things Tripadvisor is best at— look at the top two or three and pick from those. Can visit the islands, or Trogir or Krka.

Boat tour with Toto Travel (Blue Lagoon + 3 Island tour)
We got a private walking tour but unfortunately I don't have the tour guide's info (my friend had booked it through GetYourGuide). In general GetYourGuide seemed more reasonably priced than Viator.

❖ Early morning walk to fish market, pick up breakfast from bakery
❖ Swimming at Bacvice beach (very gradual entry

Is Dubrovnik worth it? We were hoping to have about half a day touring and spending rest of the day in a resort

OP here: Its in Split, so not sure if its worth the effort. Takes 3 h minimum to get there

Are the beaches easy to get to?

Are cabs easily available?

Any specific bakeries?

Can you easily arrange a boat tour on the spot, or do you need to book ahead of time?

No, it's not worth a 3 hr drive each way. I would use that time to go somewhere closer like the islands or Trogir.

I had been to Split a couple of times before my family and I did a semi-private tour of the palace. It made me realise how much we had missed previously! I would definitely recommend doing a history tour. There are many layers of history there and you can easily just walk past the interesting stuff. I can't remember our guide's name. He was a former history teacher but with a good sense of humour which made the tour engaging for my kids.
