| We only have one day - what would be the one or two things we must do? |
|
You could have a great visit to the science museum with a 4 year old. Definitely spend time in the kids section or st a presentation aimed at kids. Or visit the children’s museum.
Have the parents been to Boston before? You could combine a walk on the freedom trail with a stop at a playground. Boston has many playgrounds with both sand and water features, which are less common in the DC area. |

Depending on the weather do a hop on hop off bus or the Ducks aquabus tour. That worked well.
I took two small kids to Boston. They liked the Paul Revere house but otherwise didn't get the Freedom Trail. I didn't even get too interested on my first visit to Boston as a high school junior. Some kids may like the big historical Navy ship. My kids weren't too impressed. But I tried. It certainly has a different vibe from old buildings. There was a lady busking near Harvard with a pay what you will writing on parchment with a quill pen experience. That was fun for the older kid. |
We thought the science museum was great. Kids were slightly older, but not much. |
Yeah, if kid’s name is Sheldon Cooper. |
| We’re going whale watching. |
| If it rains, new england aquarium! I wouldn't go whale watching with a 4 yr old - high likelihood of puking, plus no guarantee of seeing whales. |
| An early tour of Harvard? Just kidding... |
