AAP and IEP

Does the Level IV screening committee review student IEP records? If yes, do they review all records (e.g., external documents parents submit to the IEP team) or just the goals / progress reports? And is it only for the submission school year or entire history?

My understanding they do not have access. It’s only mentioned if you give the. Permission to include it in the packet.

For us, I added a page (word document) with background, diagnosis and some wording on how it impacts the child. My child has dyslexia, ADHD with high IQ (as shown in the test scores provided in the packet except for reading Iready). I did not add or give permission to share the IEP.

I will add, I asked for the packet after child was admitted. This was when the county did GBRS and the teachers had to add a note for each rating. The teacher added a nice note about how child had great vocabulary and auditory skills where above grade level to counter the lower reading Iscore.

Base on the timing of the question, I believe you are asking for the appeal packet. For appeals (no personal experience, so take it with a grain of salt) I would provide information on the diagnosis and use it to counter any negative HOPE score. Meaning something, child received low score in a question related to social interactions. If child has ADHD I would explain how the diagnosis impacts this area and then highlight a positive like how they can hyper focus on something that interests them.
