Private swim lessons?

Our son (5) has developmental delays. Can anyone recommend a private swim instructor that teachers indoors? We know about Steps and Strokes and are on their waitlist, but would really like to get started in the fall with a place indoors with someone who has experience with kids with delays.

I would caution you against Step and Strokes if your child has any sensory issues. I wish someone had warned me about this after I was on the wait list for a year. They may be great with developmental delays but horrible for sensory kids.

A friend has used this swim instruction company and really likes them -- they do semi-private lessons for her two kids.

They have many locations in MD. But I don't know if they specifically have experience with kids with special needs though.

We have used Steps and Strokes for my 5 year old DD WITH sensory issues and have been very very pleased with her progress. Her instructor Jenn is very patient and caring. We absolutely love her and our experience with Steps and Strokes. It was worth the wait for us. Maybe pp had a different instructor. I know they recently hired a new instructor.

Can anyone post contact details for Steps and Strokes? Or suggest any other swim instructor who will teach at a NW DC pool this fall or winter?

Thank you!

I am the poster who said I did not have a good experience. And just to clarify, because truly I wish I had known this before, the lessons are taught in a busy indoor pool ( the lab school), in one or two lanes, while adults are swimming and all sorts of activity is going on in the other lanes. Indoor pools have crazy echos and sounds as it is, but for a kid with any auditory sensitivity this is madness. Also, there is no shallow end, so its jump in and hang on to the instructor from day one. There's no easing yourself in for nervous kids. For my kid, it was a disaster, but seemed to be working for other kids there.
