If you are a teacher in a nursery school?

What hours do you work and how much do you get paid?

I work at a Jewish preschool in Bethesda and get paid $45k. I teach Pre-K and work so much that i don’t think what I get paid is enough and I’m wondering what others get paid.

I work 830-130 M-F (preschool, not day care).
I make less than a county sub., but I like the kids, parents, and other teachers and I like feeling dutiful (weekly lesson plans, classroom prep, etc).

Not nursery school, but if you work in pre-K for DCPS you’re on the same salary as every other teacher. I teach elementary but if I switched to pre-k I’d be making $125k for 8-3:30, on a school calendar so 193 days per year of work.

How much per hour is this working out to approximately? I appreciate the question because I have been curious how these jobs compensated.

Compensated b/c the particular preschool i work at aligns its holidays with all the holidays and days off that the public school system has - so I get the random teacher workdays off like the public school system, Thanksgiving, Christmas break, Spring Break, snow days, etc. And the last day of preschool is Mem Day weekend so summer is off.

I work at a church preschool. 9-12:30 M-Th, $16ish per hour. I could make more working at Costco but I absolutely love my job, the hours work for my family and thankfully, my income does not need to support the household.

Is that what you work now? 8-3:30? In my experience most teachers put in hours outside of school.

Also, what level of education and how many years experience do you have? $125K is 17-18 years at the same employer with a master's plus 60 extra graduate level classes or a PhD.
