Our outdoor round metal patio dining table seats 4 comfortably and 6 can squeeze. There are occasional times we want to seat 8-10. I’m trying
to think creatively how to expand the seating without buying a new table for 10, since the need is only occasional. If I could find another round table of close to the same height/diameter, could I push them against each other and cover with table cloths? This works great with rectangle shaped tables but not sure about rounds. Any other ideas for me? Thanks. |
Obviously, you cannot push round tables together without the shape being awkward. Your best bet might be to DIY a piece of plywood to make your round table into a square. Then, push a card table up to the square table and add tablecloth (+ padding, if needed) to make it pretty.
If it's occasional, do what the rest of us do: set up a card table.
We have a folding 6' table for these occasions. $60-80 at costco.
make a bigger round out of plywood to put on top. get a big tablecloth.
Folding tables, especially because beautiful table cloths look so great outside.
Just get a folding table and use it instead of the round table when you need more space. Will require a festive tablecloth. When not in use, fold and store in garage/basement.
