What can we do that's cool?

Anonymous
I'm taking the month off, mostly, and want to do some special things with DC, who is 5, before school begins. Outdoor is good, but I'd like to be cool too. What can we do: waterparks? A daytrip to the Chesapeake? We're in close-in MoCo but I'm willing to drive a bit. Please share your suggestions. Thanks!

There's quite a bit to do in Montgomery County. Glen Echo Park and Cabin John Park both have large playgrounds and a ride on train. Glen Echo Park also has a carousal and a small museum.

There's also several swim centers and water parks. Bohrer Park in Gaithersburg, Rockville Swim Center, etc.

You can also drive to Baltimore and go to Port Discovery and the aquarium. Or go into DC and visit some museums and sights there. There's also Six Flags in PG County and Adventure Park USA in New Market (haven't been there yet).

There are often children's performances at Discovery Theatre, Glen Echo Park, and Imagination Stage.

There's a fair coming up in Gaithersburg as well isn't there? I've never been to it, so I'm not sure how cool it actually is.

Thanks, all. I should clarify that I meant cool as in temperature, not as in a perceived personal characteristic. I'm utterly lacking in that department!
