Has anyone been to or joined the new(ish) Planet Fitness in Takoma Park on New Hampshire? Any feedback about that location, or the chain in general?
I'm not looking for a fancy gym, but would like a step up from the YMCA fitness center. |
It’s ghetto |
My DH goes to the one in DTSS. His review is “It’s exactly what you’d expect for $10 a month.” It’s perfectly fine if you just need some basic machines and weights and don’t care that it’s slightly crappy. |
Bullsh*t. My neighbor goes there. Super preppy white guy. We were chatting in the neighborhood and he was saying that he recently joined and loved it. Don't let your biases take over a conversation. |
My son said they have limited machines. He belongs to One Life. I go to Golds.
I think the best gym is the one you consistently use! |
Racist |
Racist? Planet fitness has a wide range of clientele. They don’t have a ton of weight machines (for example, no hack squat machine) but it is a decent gym and low cost. |
I joined and love it! Clean, friendly, not too crowded, lots of parking, easy to pick up groceries at Lidl afterwards. |
I am thinking about joining one that opened in Glenmont, but have heard that it's really difficult to cancel your membership. That seems to be the top criticism I see about the chain in general |
I’ve cancelled at several locations (moving) and it is unquestionably annoying to have to go in with a letter but I wouldn’t say difficult. They all cancelled me without pushback. |
Thanks! PP here, that's good to know |
Onelife is better. much better equipment and nicer too. |
Planet fitness is the pits |
