| I’m nearly a week into cold turkey sugar and gluten free diet and I am pooping all. The. Time. Easily six times a day. Not diarrhea. Can anyone explain why? |
What’s wrong with writing a complete sentence? The and time are not sentences. |
| Gluten and sugar require some types of bacteria to digest it in your gut. If you're no longer eating it, they'll remove themselves from your gut. |

Some people who are gluten intolerant or have celiac disease find that gluten causes constipation. But most with celiac find it causes diarrhea.
It could also be that you eating more fiber. |
| Is it healthy, well-formed poop (see Bristow scale). My daughter and i went off gradually and we definitely had a flu like response the first few weeks that included diarrhea. Once it was gone though...OMG! My brain-fog lifted and I had more energy and no more bloating. My daughter was a toddler and the preschool asked if we had put her on medication because he was so much calmer and more content. The one time they accidentally gave her snack and not the gluten free one we provided, the old her came back and she was bursting into tears, etc. Turned out her issue was gluten intolerance and she was crying and not talking at preschool because she felt lousy all day. |
Did you get her tested for celiac disease before taking her off gluten? |

It has nothing to do with gluten and sugar. Look at what foods you are eating more of now. If you are eating more veggies and fruit, answer right there.
If you are eating oatmeal, voila! This could happen if you were still eating gluten and sugar but added fruit, oats, and veggies. |
If you avoid gluten for non celiac reasons how strict are you about it? Just obvious wheat flour or scrutinizing ingredient lists? |
