6th grade middle school registration

Current 5th grade parent here. When should we expect to see middle school registration (in Parentvue?), including for which math/ELA/social studies our kid was recommended?

Is the timeline different for magnet middle schools?

No it doesn’t, it usually happens a few days before school starts in August. You won’t see anything before that in ParentVue

There's a section in ParentVue called Course Request. That's where you'll find the classes the student registered for for the following year. Some schools deactivate this section from view.

Nope, I have two kids in MCPS in two different schools and have never seen anything in the course registration section until late August

The section that gets populated in late August is Class Schedule. Course Request is a different section which is populated now, if your school makes it viewable.

OP here - thanks. I'm looking for the course request because I heard some schools can see it now but it's not available for us.

Course request is usually visible for MS/HS students once they are already students in the school. Incoming students are not considered current school students so it doesn’t show for them.

5th grade parent I wouldn’t expect to see to see request until Summer (if at all) and class schedules will be available in August.

If you want to check what courses your child is registered for, like if they got into enriched social studies, reach out to counselor and/or AP for the grade. But at our school, those decisions aren’t finalized until after spring MAP testing, so you might want to wait until early June to do so.
