Love my new Ice Cream maker....thanks to you all. Now I need some good tips

Made my first batch of Ice Cream today with our new cuisinart. Now I need some tips. It was very "icey" tasting, probably because I tried to use lower fat milk/cream. I also used a recipe without the egg yolks cause I had no eggs in the house...what does the egg yolk do to the consistency?

Any favorite recipe books?

What did you use? Follow Cuisinart's recipes and you'll be fine. I made frozen yogurt the other day, half Greek yogurt, half half and half, and it was still not enough fat. I'm going to try 2/3 half and half and 1/3 Greek yogurt next time. Buttermilk is also a yummy way to go. The NYT just ran an article on eggless ice cream. This past week.
