Totally stressed waiting test results: Say something to calm me down?

I have health anxiety and am handling it better than ever thanks to a new med.
However, any time I am waiting for test results, I am so nervous. And these are pretty standard - a simple HPV and Pap test! However, my test last year was HPV positive (but nothing else found), so I am on edge. I think I saw a thread about Paps recently but can't find it. Could someone say something reassuring? Worst fear is they find cancer cells I suppose. Thanks for support DCUM!! |

| Whatever is happening in your body is already happening. So all that changes with test results is that you have more information. And once you have that information, you and your doctor can make a plan. |

| I have the same anxiety. My hands literally shake as I type my password to check. It sounds like you already have proactive doctor and plan in place so that is the best thing you can do for yourself. |

| HPV usually goes away on it’s own and is so common. Even if they find something abnormal on your Pap test, it’s very treatable when caught early. I have similar health anxiety so I do understand! |

| The very reason Pap smears exist is to catch something BEFORE it turns to something! It is an excellent screening tool! If you stay up to date on Paps, nothing they find is going to upend your life. |
