DC Parking Tix Handicap Meter!

Was rushing to a college tour. Saw a parking space with a meter and considered myself lucky. I paid park mobile and came out and had a $250 parking ticket. I didn’t even consider that it was a handicapped space until I looked closer at the meter and saw that it was faded red w a D for disability on it. I live in the MD burbs and had no clue. Im used to signs that say handicapped or a marking on the ground of some sort.
How do I contest this? Is it possible to get this excused? If I contest does it mean I have to go to court? TIA. |
