I had my tubes tied, and since being off hormonal birth control, I have had terrible breast pain for about 8-10 days before my period every month. I mostly just kind of deal with it and take ibuprofen, but I was thinking about buying a different bra or getting heated breast pads. Anyone else dealing with this? From what I read online it’s fairly common. What do you do? |
| How bad is it? Magnesium and low on sugar, caffeine, alcohol all help. |

Cut back on caffeine.
Don’t schedule a mammogram for then! |
| Eliminating caffeine never made a difference for me. Taking magnesium actually did. |

I don’t think I can handle cutting back on caffeine! I will try magnesium, though.
The pain isn’t bad enough that I’ve ever had to miss work, but it’s bad enough that it’s distracting, and it wakes me up at night. |

Calcium supplements. Make sure you're getting 1200mg of calcium per day.
I used to have incredibly sore breasts during the second half of my cycle. I tried several different supplements alleging to alleviate the soreness with no change. Finally, the calcium did the job. I can't eat dairy so, clearly, I was deficient. |

The only thing that stopped breast pain was giving up coffee. It’s not just caffeine because I was drinking decaf and had horrible breast pain. As soon as I stopped coffee for a few weeks, pain was gone.

| How much Magnesium did you take to show improvement? |
| Try evening primrose oil (pills, a supplement) |
