BPA in receipts

Anonymous
Very concerning levels of BPA are consistently found in thermal paper, like what you get as a receipt at any retail store:

Which agency should be regulating this?

BPS also used in containers of various sorts that hold substances we eat and drink. Any regulators who could do something about BPA (and other similar substances) won’t or can’t do anything.

How is that possible? Where do we start?

Also, shouldn’t insurance companies be all over this, logically?

I recommend you refrain from eating them. Problem solved.

If you read the article, you'd know that handling them is a problem.

Who takes a receipt anymore when you can get them electronically at most places?

when I get home from any shopping, I put everything away and then wash my hands with soap.

In the stores where I know I'll never return anything I tell them I'm okay without the receipt (I'm white and know this is a privilege) and if there's an option I have it emailed to me rather than printed, and then wash my hands when I get home anyway.

There’s too much to worry about - it’s kverwgelming. I focus on what I can control - like washing my hands.
