Alexa Dickens is charged with allowing access of firearms to children.

May more parents be held accountable - for endangering the public, and also their own children.

It was proper to bring charges. I still really feel for the child, it must be a traumatic and stressful situation, from finding the gun at school to having his mother criminally charged. Hope he’s getting all the support he needs.

If an arrest is appropriate obviously I'm glad it was made, but there goes any anonymity for the child.

Agreed, although Lyles-Crouch is one of the smaller ACPS elementary schools, so anyone who wanted to know could probably have found out by now. I don't care about the identity of the child but do care about the response of the police and school district (and to a lesser extent the school because they're so limited by the police and school district).

I hope the child doesn't feel any guilt about their mom being arrested. It seems like the kid did the right thing (almost certainly not learned from mom). I truly they have a good support system and adults to guide them.
