| Our son is in his first year of travel and we're thinking ahead to next year. Wondering if it is typical for a coach to follow the team up to the next age group, or for coaches typically stay with the same age groups and get new kids each year. I'm sure it varies a lot, but would love to hear how you've seen it done. |
At Revolution they had them announced around late February - early March last year. This year they’ve only announced 3 for GA, JJ just got her C license about 4 weeks ago - potential DEI choice because the coaching skills are subpar to say the least. CC was the leader at FCV after being enticed by the $$, MJ has no licenses to his name. Hideous stuff whatever way you look at it. FCV has announced coaches but no fields. LS has announced coaches. |
You glazed over the question.

LS has not announced travel coaches |
OP has a son, I doubt they care about FCV The answer is that it differs between clubs. Some coaches just coach a given age group, others will stay with teams for a couple of years and then hand them off while others will stay much longer |
| Typically coaches stay with a team for more than a year, in my experience. Some stay in a range, say U9/ U10, always. Unless the person has been there for several years already, or there are issues with the coach I would expect they would stay in place but the best way to know is obviously the coaching slate the club puts out. Or, you could ask and see if they are allowed to tell you. |
| Depends on club. At some clubs, coaches stay with certain age groups/levels within age groups; some have some coach for X number of years. It really just depends. |
Where? They're website says they aren't announcing coaches until next Monday. Everything else I agree with, though. VSA and PWSI haven't announced yet either. |
OP here. That's what I figured. Wishful thinking to know what they're thinking already I guess. Thank you! |

It depends on the club. It seems like most coaches will keep the same team for at least 2 years. But you have to keep in mind, there are a lot of things that can change during the season that can impact the coaching slate for the following year.

| A lot of clubs will keep a coach with a group for 2 years within the same player amount. U9-u-10 and u11- u12 and u13-u14 |
