Tongue Tied?

Anonymous
Has anyone had experience with problems breastfeeding because of their child being toungue tied? And if so, has anyone ever seen ENT Dr. Stephen Epstein in Rockville?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

My first was tongue tied, we decided not to clip and the issue eventually worked itself out.

Our third was tongue tied. We also opted not to clip.

We had no issues with bfing. We had some speech issues that required therapy. She is now starting pre-K with no adverse consequences.

DD and I had a very hard time BFing. Our ped and LC thought she might have had a slightly short frenulum, so Dr. Epstein clipped it at around 4 wks. It never resolved our challenges around BFing, but I don't regret doing it. She cried for a few minutes and then forgot the whole thing. She's now almost 1 and babbles nonstop, so speech was never a concern...guess it was more my boobs at issue.

Our son had a short frenulum. We regret not getting cut! Not only lots of speech problems (and expensive therapy( but now he needs braces because his tongue always pushes out.
