Recommendations for Neuropsych testing in N. Virginia?

Anonymous
I have two questions.
1) An immigrant friend who lives in Manassas has a child diagnosed with autism. He has only been tested by the public schools, however. I'd like to help them get him a full neuropsych test. What testing companies are considered the most reputable in N. Virginia? (They're out near Manassas / Centreville, but could easily go to Fairfax or Chantilly.)

2) Then beyond the testing, how can they find out about what options there are for their child in high school and beyond. Are there counselors who specialize in helping children with special needs figure out the future, like specialized high schools that will support him, and later, vocational programs or colleges with special programs? He's in special ed now, 8th grade, with an IEP. Last year he insisted on taking regular classes as kids were bullying him for being in special ed., but he failed almost everything. The family has received very little information from the schools. It would be helpful to have an idea what track he is on, and where he could go. His self-esteem is plummeting and it's so sad to see. Thanks for any ideas.

A good source of resources is https://poac-nova.org/. There are some on the website and an active email group.

The school can do a learning evaluation, right? I know that is not exactly the same thing as what you’re looking for, but if cost is an issue, that might be helpful.

We did ours through Family First in Tysons: https://familyfirstva.com/
They were recommended by our elementary school.
