Wayb pico v Diono Radian 3R

Anonymous
We have the Wayb and are just meh about it for use on an airplane and installing in a rental car. We now need a travel seat for kid #2. I see the Diono Radian 3R is half the price and can also be used on a plane. Has anyone tried this car seat and do you feel it's lightweight and easy to install? I lack time to google all this so was hoping someone had a quick answer or comparison of the seats (or just an opinion about the Dorian based on experience). TIA.

It is easy to install, but it's also very heavy for travel.

I'd just get a cheap evenflo for travel.

Thanks for this- I don't want to schlep anything heavy through the airport.

How old is your child? We use the Cosco Scenera Next for my toddler when traveling. It’s super lightweight. Looks like they have the Cosco Finale DX 2-in-1 for older kids.

We had that one but my kid finally outgrew it...I loved it!

PICO is Wayyyy lighter and easier than Diono, Pico needs a head strap as kids heads bend while napping due to rigid position.
The 3R(my nanny has it) is heavy to me, I would not use it on the plane or to travel unless I had to.

I’ve never taken a car seat on an airplane. Obviously you can if you want to but just as an option, I wouldn’t want to. It sounds like a huge PITA.

The Diono is a good seat but very heavy.
I have always checked my seats so that’s my suggestion. I just came back from spring break and the only child in a car seat on the plane itself was a disabled teen in a special needs car seat.
