| Which is better for girls in the pre-ecnl age group/level? We have interest from both programs and they seem to regularly be lumped together on here when I searched VSA. |
| From a skills development standpoint, PWSI. |
| Pwsi +1 |
For player development, PWSI. Good coaches and directors are actually involved with players and teams regularly. For better social media and helicopter parents, vsa. |
| Unless someone has played for both, this is a hard question. But the answer probably lies in what is important for you. Wins? Development? Culture? Location? And FYI, the top teams in the U11 and U12 age groups practice together once a week. |
You won’t get much from this board on these clubs. If it was a Loudoun, Fairfax, Arlington, Alexandria, or Montgomery county club, that’s a different story. |
Why? |
u would be surprised how many kids at nva/loudoun had stints at pwsi |
| If you’re a minority, go to PWSI and do it right. If you’re a typical white DMV family, go to VSA. |
|
In general, I'd say VSA has stronger girls teams and PWSI stronger boys. There are birth years that the opposite is true.
Also weigh which one is closer to home. |
| The 2012/2013 girls pre-ecnl group is not strong at either club if your child falls in that group. Look else where. |
You should speak to the staff and check out some practices. This is not a good place for advice, especially with players that young. |
Agree. Loudoun would be the better choice at that age if your daughter can make top team, but sounds like you live near the other two. |
Drive to Loudoun so you can win at U12 and lose at U13? |
We plan to. We have invites to check out both top teams early in April but wanted to see if anyone had feedback. One practice or two is hard to judge leading up to tryouts. I take most comments with a grain of salt. Tho it isn't too hard to figure out which are troll accounts. |
