What is the best way to find out the potential for future problems?

A friend of mine has lost two brothers to cancer, and another two (of nine total) are currently very ill. one with breast cancer, another with ovarian.
My friend is in her mid-40's and is concerned that her risk may be high. But she is afraid of getting testing through her doctor for fear of becoming uninsurable. I was thinking there should be some types of tests that she could get that she could pay out of pocket. Any suggestions? |
