Hello everyone, with lottery results out, I am looking to connect to parents from Shepherd and Eaton about your experience with the school and in particular in first grade.

Any insights would be useful.

We are at Shepherd and love it. What questions do you have? Have a current third grader and current K. The first grade teachers are both really good. There was a recent thread on the school here.

I’m an Eaton parent with 4th & 6th grader. It’s a fabulous school with a great community. The first grade teachers are fantastic but all my kids teachers in all grades have been fantastic.

If both schools are strong, it might be best to consider the commute and feeder patterns to help you decide.

Thank you! We’d love to connect with current parents and talk about the school, the community, and the aftercare program. It would be useful to talk with rising first-graders such as yourself. Would the PTO be a good starting point? Feel free to DM me, if that works for you.

Thank you! We’d love to connect to some parents and discuss the school, the curriculum and aftercare. We are first on the Eaton waitlist, though we have a spot at Shepherd.

Please feel feee to DM me, if that works.

Thank you!

Hardy parent here, but we were an Eaton family prior. We are OOB and specifically chose Eaton over other ES’s due to Hardy feed. We did not want to send our child to Deal. I know it sounds and feels far away, but MS is coming fast and as these schools have different feeder patterns, you may want to consider that as well.

Cannot speak to Shepherd, but Eaton was phenomenal for our DC and they are loving Hardy. We are also excited about MacArthur and consider that a bonus as we were looking at ways to avoid Wilson (now JR)
