| This past week at a tournament i saw a coach for a U11 boys team swear loudly and constantly the full game. He constantly yelled F and GD. My question is specific about the role of the ref in that situation. We have seen players get yellow cards for a simple S word at this age, so it seems to me that the coaches should be held to a similar standard. What do you think? |
| Amazing that the parents hear that every weekend and say nothing |
|
For u11, absolutely they should get cards for that.
High school probably not. |
| Yep... they're the example the kids are supposedly following. |
| GD is not swearing. |
| Absolutely. And I say that as someone who uses the "F word" way too much. But it's also on the club. It's wholly inappropriate around kids. |
Disagree. Its disrespectful and inappropriate regardless of the age of the players. |
+1 Its inappropriate to use any foul language toward a minor of any age. Would people be ok with a teacher yelling GD or F at their kids performance in school? |
| foul language is in the eye of the beholder. If the coach was Irish, F this and F that is like saying "golly gee wilickers" |
| WTF is a card going to do? |
| god damn isnt a swear, but yes they should for F |
Are you ok with your kid saying GD to you? Its about how its used. |
A yellow one is a warning. A second one is a red. The coach is required to leave the game and in tournaments he is suspended for the next game. |
I think it was an effing joke. |
NP. I have no problem with my kid saying god dammit in front of me. AT me, is different. |
