| Do public universities care about demonstrated interest? I have a tour scheduled at one, but the other one would have to be done the next day which is a Saturday, so self-guided. |
| Most publics don’t, but W&M is an exception. |
| Mostly no. You can double check in each CDS. |
| University of Michigan does |
| Pitt does. |
| Shit, I checked and the one we do not have a tour for does!! So what do we do now?! |
| I just saw that when you take the self-guided tour you can submit contact info, so does that count as interest?! |
+1 WM cares a LOT. But they can care, many fewer applications, much smaller school. Also got the sense Pitt cares, but to a lesser degree than WM. |
Sure |
| Look at common data sets. It's different everywhere. |
Most don't even if indicated otherwise. Some privates also claim to care but really don't. It's all about rankings and your profile relative to those rankings. i.e. A 1500+ SAT kid doesn't really need to demo. interest for the schools to want them. A 1200 kid may not even get in with oodles of demonstrated interest.. GPA/ECs/LOR being good enough for the schools, of course. |
Yes. You sign in on an app or the like. They will register that as interest. |
