Watching real housewives, and its obvious, the fact that Cat liked GWB as a person makes her racist. Remember anytime you say anything against Dear Leader Obama you must be racist. |
Also if you dislike Tyra you're racist. |
I just watched it. I'm white and thought she came across as a little bit racist when she was mocking Tyra. I'm not a Tyra fan but I found it off-putting too. Stacy on RHDC seems like the nicest and most normal one to me... she was quite diplomatic when talking about how she didn't like the British woman. |
Wow, strawman much? The point was just how damn tacky the woman was. What did she say that didn't offend the people at the party? |
By mocking Tyra's mannerisms she seemed racist? Are you kidding? So white people can only make fun of the mannerisms of other white people? Do you even know what that word means?? |
Yeah, I thought she seemed a little bit racist in the way she did it. |
Can you be 'a little bit racist'? Most comedy sketches are out the window I guess if one cannot mock. Oh joyless, PC world! |
Why do conservatives feel they can mock Obama all they want without having their motives called into question?
Complaining about healthcare mandate, immigration, rolling back of tax cuts: legitimate policy disagreement Making complaints about "socialism" or "Bill Ayres": you're being fear-mongered, but still legitimate Comparing Obama to a monkey or other primate: probably racist Calling Obama the n-word: definitely racist Considering Obama born outside the USA: same turf as moon landing deniers, 9/11 was an inside job folks. I advise becoming a Jewish Freemason. |
Really? When liberals mocked Bush, compared him to Dumbo, or an ape, that was ok right? I personally it;s bad taste to make fun of ANYONE but this notion that once you DO make fun of someone of another race even in jest just imitating just mannerisms you're a racist but if you;re the same race it's ok is stupid. The race card being pulled out at EVERY single incident, is actually making race relations worse. |
Just to reply to the original subject: no if you think George Bush is a "good man" you're not racist. Though I disagree; he seemed like a prick with *zero* relationship with his daughters. I've seen tons of dry-drunks who found Jesus and quit drinking in their forties who follow the same arc. Incurious, a bully, just all around gross human being. Of course, there are plenty of folks out there who feel otherwise: either because they have zero EQ, or are just open vessels for any sort of propaganda that soothes their existing preconceptions. After all, Reagan--who had no relationship with his children--was perceived by most on the Right as a "good family man". Clinton, for whatever his infidelities, obviously has a very close relationship with his daughter, and with his wife, for that matter. But, of course, since Clinton is and was evil incarnate, the right-wing noise-machine has to demonize Chelsea and Hillary, as well. Same way they do with Michelle Obama and her daughters. Since conservativism is all about providing a fig-leaf of respectability for folks' less savory impulses, it makes it very easy to buy into whatever pleasant political narrative your're sold, regardless of how improbable. |
That woman wasn't funny or trying to be funny, so comedy doesn't have anything to do with it. If "a little bit racist" rankles you, substitute " rude" or "in poor taste." |
OP, clearly you did not get it. |
