I'm due to increase does from 2.5 to 5 on thursday. 2.5 hasn't really worked for me this week (4th shot). However, I just planned a quick spring break vacation/weekend trip with my teen and I don't want to ruin it with nausea/indigestion. My side effects when I started 2.5 were not too bad (I'd be fine traveling with them) and have been pretty much non existent for shots 3 and 4, but I'm wondering if they could potentially be bad after increasing to 5. (I'd rather not postpone the 5.0 shot, but I could wait and take it sunday.)
Thoughts? |
No. I do take Zantac in advance if I'm anticipating anything other than a light meal. For me, 5 does help with appetite suppression better than 2.5. |
I would wait. I lost all my weight (25lbs) on 5 but had worse reflux than before. |
Some what. I moved from 2.4 Wegovy to 7.5 Zepbound. And my Wegovy side effects disappear— but the dose was too low, and I gained about 3 pounds that month. Went up to 10 Zepbound the next month, and 12.5 this month. I could have stayed on 10– it was still working. But 12.5 was what was available. So, that’s what ai got. Some constipation on 10 and 12.5– but the GI side effects have been so much better on Zepbound than they were on Wegovy. Usually worst the first few days after I start a new dose, then my body adapts.
I had constant, but low level, nausea, constipation, etc n Wegovy. Almost completely disappeared on Zepbound (again except for the first few days ona new dose). My PA says that she’s hearing that Zepbound has fewer side effects from multiple patients who switched from Wegovy. |
No sides affects when increasing. |
I’ll report back. I’ve done 2.5 for 2 months and lost 20lbs (also had an intense stomach bug) but have been losing steadily. I’ve been a little nauseous on 2.5 so I’m nervous about 5. I don’t know that I even need 5 but I taking my shot tonight. |
You were on it for 25 lbs? |
OP here. Thought I'd share my experience in case someone searches in the future.
I ended up delaying the shot for a few days. Once I took it, no effects for the first two days (in fact, I was thinking it wasn't working at all) and then BAM on day 3 (maybe 68 hours after shot) I had a bad tummy ache for like 4-5 hours. Slight indigestion (but not debilitating) after that passed. Though since then, I have been feeling a lot weaker than usual. (When I've felt this way pre-zepbound, it has usually been dehydration so I'm trying to drink a lot of water.) In conclusion, happy that I delayed the shot, though it wouldn't have been a huge deal-- just a few hours of discomfort. |
