creeping jenny

A couple years ago, I took 3 pieces of creeping jenny and put it in a planter. Over the years, it filled up the planter and grew over the sides to the ground. Now is has spread all over a certain area of the ground. The question is, can I leave it and let it keep going, or will it take over and kill the plants that are there?

It is invasive. Kill it. It will take over and then it will take over neighboring properties.

it is invasive but I have not known it smother any other plants.

Oh please. It's a soft little prolific grower in the right conditions. It's not bamboo, which will take over the neighborhood if allowed.

I decided to only plant it in containers so I'd probably rip it out

It is not quite to Ivy-level invasiveness but also not far behind. I've had a devil of a time removing it from my yard. Highly invasive. Chokes out other things.

Get rid of it. So many other lovely, native options for ground cover. Stonecrop, Foamflower being two of my faves.
