We live close to quince orchard high school in gaithersburg, and we don't have HOA pool. Most of kids' friends live in kentland or lakeland that have access to their community pool. Parents tell me their kids learn how to swim by joining pre-team or swim team or swiming there often in summer. It sounds really fun and get to meet school friends there. Someone tell me that we can pay extra money to join their pools. Is that true? There is a quince orchard swim pool off quince orchard road, and I find their website so difficult to navigate to get more information about joining and feedback. There is westleigh swim pool nearby, not sure about review. Someone tell me to join ymca pool in bethesda or frederick, and they are quite far and I am not sure how crowded it is on weekend. We can't go on weekdays because they are far. I don't know how's city/county gaithersburg, rockville, germantown, poolesville county pool on weekend for free swim schedules.
May I ask where do you all join pool membership that does not break bank and accessible if you live in gaithersburg without hoa pool? Kids need to practice and swim more for fun. They are at beginner level, and I am not sure if they are qualified for pre swim team, age 5 and 8. They have been taking swim lessons for 2 years or more, still at level 1. We are told by teachers that we need to find a pool to practice more. |

We belong to Westleigh and love it. Not sure what new members are but it’s a few hundred dollars a year and you didn’t mention a budget. QO is also very popular.

Why don’t you ask the HOA of your kids’ friends to see if you can join as someone outside of the community?
If this is not an option, there are county rec pools and swim programs in that area. |
| I live in Lakelands. You have to have a member or a child of appropriate age give you a guest pass. We get 10 passes yearly and can pay for more for $2/person. I believe that an owner or an appropriate age child has to show up with you in order for you to use the guest pass. An owner can also pay for a Care Provider season pass. |
No longer in hood but fond memories of this place. This is your answer. |

Westleigh is really special. It’s different from QO, Darnestown and Stonebridge. Excuse it is an entirely community funded pool. There is no HOA or neighborhood support.
Its cost is minimal for what it provides- around $600/year with minimal registration cost and no high buy in (like Darnestown). It offers year round pickleball and tennis. The swim team is fantastic. Pool is always clean and staff is lovely. Outdoor volleyball and sports. Great summer camp for multi sport option (https://fssoccer.com/fs-multi-sport-camp-at-westleigh/) and a tennis camp, lots of extra swim coaching and lessons available. Please consider joining this pool if you are in the area and don’t have a community pool! Kentlands Lakeland’s and other pools don’t offer outside memberships so can’t compare. Thank you! |
Washingtonian Woods is a GREAT pool with a fun community and swim team. It is $550 for outside memberships
