Placement Tests

I just wanted to know this information about placement tests for the future just in case. I don't think my DS will skip though.

I was just wondering if TJ has placement/skip tests for math and for which math levels.

Also, could you skip multiple levels? Math 4 + 5 is just precalculus so in my opinion, it wouldn't make sense if you can only skip math 4 and have to take math 5 in the school year, being unable to take Calculus.

Math placement tests are no longer given at TJ. Counselor will review full year courses taken at middle school or previous high school to determine appropriate enrollment in TJ math level.

Student cannot use AP exam score of 5 to place out of an AP course. TJ AP courses are much more rigorous and in-depth than what an AP exam tests.

Parents wishfully hope that their students can use math courses from AoPS, Curie, RSM, etc... to skip TJ's math courses. However, these attempts have been unsuccessful, leading to unnecessary frustration for their own students.
