Is this an unexcused absence? Does it matter for elementary kids?
|
Of course it’s unexcused. What the hell is wrong with you?
|
What makes you think that there is a possibility this is an excusable absence. It won’t matter for elementary. |
Who cares. Let them know ahead of time. See you there Orlando, right? |
It doesn’t matter for elem kids.
I’m not sure if it’s excused or not. We went to England for my mom’s 80th bday and they excused that but we’re at a private. |
Sorry some people are mean. We always said what it was for (a meet) and at least in middle school- they excused it. FCPS |
Every time my kid has missed school for a meet it has been unexcused. At the end of the day it never matters though because my kid isn’t sick a lot and generally doesn’t miss school otherwise. |
Unexcused. Doesn’t matter |
Op here. I figured it’s unexcused but just checking if I should care. Y’all are rough haha.
Is it excused later when they are in high school or never? |
Just call your kid in sick if you care how they classify it. It really doesn’t matter whether it’s excused or not |
Then you’re teaching the kid to lie. |
I will try! |
I disagree with this. For some, traveling to national meets in high school, is one way to get attention from college coaches. My swimmer’s absences due to attending national qualifying meets were excused. The school agreed attending these meets was part of their collegiate package. Elementary school…I don’t think I cared enough to get the absences excused. |
Disagree, not all schools will do this. Also, op asking about high school while her child is in elementary is ridiculous. |
Thanks to everyone for your answers. I’m autistic so like to ask things and get information ahead of time(why I asked about HS).
I appreciate all the responses and will take into consideration. |
