Will peaches in fruit salad oxidize?

If I cut fresh peaches in advance will they oxidize/ turn brown by lunch? I can’t find a clear answer.

I’m pretty sure they have enough citrus not to worry about that. I’d keep them refrigerated, and they might get a little soft/mushy, but they shouldn’t turn brown.

That being said, I’m no peach expert, and there might be some varieties that would brown.

I’ve never seen a peach oxidize, but the internet says they do 🤷‍♀️ Apparently you can keep them in water to reduce oxidation. Is this for a work potluck or something?

They seem to turn brown faster if they are really ripe. Firmer peaches will last longer.

Sprinkle on a little lemon juice or Fruit Fresh to stretch it out.

Peaches are not citrus fruits. I have seen cut peaches turn brownish after a day or two but not in a matter of hours.

Is there citrus in the salad? Either a sprinkle of juice or some cut up oranges?

Thanks all! It’s just for my lunch box so I guess I will experiment. I will add pineapple for acidity. Thanks again.

I actually love that you have such high standards for your own lunch.
