| What do you think? I'd get the top line for both, so differential is around $10K+/- which amortized to 10 years (usually how long I hold onto cars) isn't a big difference. |

Never, ever, EVER own a new Volvo past the end of the warranty. You’d be totally insane to keep a new Volvo 10 years. I cannot even fathom how much that thing would nickel-and-dime you from the end of the warranty until the 10-year mark.

100% guarantee the Telluride will have a higher trade-in at ten years than the XC. No one wants a decade old Volvo. Combine the $10k difference with the lower resale and you’ll probably be $20k ahead with the Kia after a decade. |

OP/ Thank you for this, I hadn't thought of the maintenance expense. I am currently offloading a Highlander, and have kept it well past warranty end of life and not had much in terms of maintenance costs, so didn't think about that. |
Yeah, Toyota and Volvo aren’t even comparable in the amount of maintenance or unexpected repairs they might need. You probably just needed brakes, wipers, tires and oil changes, maybe an AC recharge service on the Highlander, right? Volvo’s aren’t like that
