15 year anniversary

Anonymous
I’m starting to think about where to go for our 15 year anniversary in 2025. Most likely we will travel in either May or October. We have young children that will not be coming with us, but because of that we will only have one week, so 6 days. Where should we go? We are fit and active, love stunning scenery and interesting architecture, culture, food/wine, some nightlife. For reference, we’ve been to Portugal and love it, particularly really loved Porto. We also enjoy snorkeling in the Carribbean. Budget and location are completely open, however. Please share your ideas! Where would you go?

I was just going to recommend Portugal. Another place we loved but is kind of far is Vancouver. Good combo of outdoor, scenery and city with amazing restaurants

I’d suggest Paris and Colmar, or Paris and Bordeaux. Perfect for an anniversary trip.

2 nights in a few different villages in Ireland for 6 nights total. Fly in and out of Dublin.

Why "May or October"? Why not go on your actual anniversary? Otherwise, it's just a trip?

At any rate, for a milestone anniversary trip with only 6 days I'd either go to Paris or an intimate beach resort in the Caribbean (like The Caves in Jamaica or AnseChastanet on St Lucia). I'd prefer Hawaii over the Caribbean, but not from the East Coast with only 6 days. Bermuda is convenient with nonstops from DC now, but I wouldn't go in May or October because of how cold the Atlantic Ocean will be (maybe the very end of May would be ok?).

OP here and I’m loving the suggestions, they are definitely giving me some ideas to look into! I said May or October because as I mentioned, we have kids, and we already will have other trips planned with them. I try to space them out because of work.

What did you like about it?

Those are perfect months for Italy. Avoids peak tourist season but weather is still mild.

We went to Montreal and Quebec City for our 15th and had a great time.

I love BA and lived there, but it is FAR for this amount of time.

I love the idea of Italy but I feel there is so much to see with this amount of time. Assuming we’d fly into Rome, we have interest in both Tuscany and Amalfi Coast, how to choose??

I like to do short trips with no or minimal time difference. Travel days tend to be travel days whether a flight is 8 hours or 13 hours.
