When we bought our home out of state years ago we acted as our own realtor (my husband is an attorney and had no issues with the contracts). But then we bought in maryland
in 2018 and were told you have to use a buyers agent. Is that no longer the case with these new rules? Can we represent ourselves now as buyers? |
That person lied to you. There is no law that requires you to use a buyers' agent. |

I am in Maryland and represented myself when I bought my house 15 years ago.
If your husband is an attorney, why didn't he ask for a citation to the law that says you have to use a buyers' agent? Maybe if he did some basic research, he would have learned that no such law exists. |
All true. But man what a stark example of how some agents used to police their cartel. |
