I have 30-minutes during my workday where I can sneak off for a 20-minute walk. I want to start amping up my workouts ahead of summer. Other than walking as fast as I can, adding a weighted vest/ankle weights, is there anything else I can do to make the most of this walk? My goal is weight loss. |
Stairs, hills. Turning that 20 minute walk into a jog.

Waking with a weighted vest has been proven to improve bone density in women. |
Prancercise |
DP, this is a good idea. I might start wearing one on my morning walk with my dog. |
It sounds hella sweaty! Do you wear it over or under a shirt? |
Can anyone recommend a weighted vest? What weight do you use? Is 5pb enough? |
Where would you get this? |
I have one from Amazon - I wear it over my shirt or jacket. I got a 12 lb but recommend starting lighter than that. 5-8 would be good unless you lift weights already. |
Pump your arms while you walk. |
THIS!!! |
You can get them on amazon. I think the studies used vests between 8-12lbs. |
I walk with a 20-lb weight in a backpack and have seen improvement in my back and core strength. This is usually just 20-30 minutes a day. |
