Anyone read Bad Therapy (nonfiction)?

A book that is arguing that children actually need less therapy because we are overvalidating every fear and anxiety and making normal childhood distress into a disorder.

Sounds right. I've not heard of the book before but will find it now. Thanks.

I'm on the waitlist for it at my library. I agree with its premise and hope we as a country can back away from therapy and medication as the recommended treatment for every little trial and tribulation.

Therapy for kids should include parent coaching. Sometimes kid’s problems are caused by or made worse by parents, and it’s part of the therapists job to help address that. But sometimes kids have disorders that need to be addressed in therapy with the kid. It’s a complicated issue and this book is reductive and oversimplified for sensationalism. Also, this author is a gross transphobe.
