Anyone have a teen who mumbles?

I think I need a speech therapist if anyone has a rec. I can’t understand my teen when he talks!

How long has this been going on? Were there speech difficulties in childhood? Is he able to communicate with others?

Yes and they also speak very fast when they aren't facing me so I have a really hard time figuring out what they are trying to say. They can speak clearly (thank you preschool speech therapy) sometimes they just mumble.
I started teasing them and calling them "Mumbles" and that seems to have helped some.

SAME. 14 year old boy. I thought my hearing was going but I can understand everyone else…

He’s a sweet kid but he does not enunciate. Maybe I should encourage him to start doing TikToks so he has to learn to speak clearly!

My 10 yr old DD hangs with a girl who has a teen brother. I think the brother passed the mumble to his sister, who then passed it to my unsuspecting DD. It’s a virus!
