ECNL ID sessions - what are they?

DS registered for ECNL ID sessions at Potomac. Are these sessions the actual tryouts or do they just screen for who will be invited to practice with the ECNL team? I’m just trying to get a sense of the timeline. The last time he tried out for Potomac, they hadn’t joined ECNL yet so the process is unfamiliar.

ID sessions is to evaluate new players from outside the club. The coaches will invite you to their practices if they think your DS has potential with the team. Try-Outs is more of a club's formality. By the time try-outs roll around, Coaches already have their team picked out.

Do you know if they will fill the RL team from the ID session as well or do you only hear if you make the top team?
