Spring sports and "mandatory" spring break practice

How mandatory is this really? Especially for freshmen whose families made plans well before there was any indication that child would make the team. Would this just impact playing time or could a kid get kicked off the team for missing spring break practices? Thanks!

We were in FCPS but for our kids it was a pretty big deal. However, it was included in the tryout paperwork and the coach also told kids and parents when he made offers for roster spots.

Will vary depending on sport and coach but every season sacrifices vacation. Fall for summer break, winter for winter break, spring for spring break. Just communicate with the coach, might lead to less playing time out of break, shouldn't lead to being kicked off team unless you don't tell them you're leaving and just no show. Should not be a major long term issue.
