Is 30 pounds overweight enough?

To get ozempic/wegovy or other weight-loss drug?

Depends on your height and comorbidities? If you are BMI 27 plus a weight related comorbidity OR BMI 30? If so, then yes. Otherwise no. See your doctor to discuss weight loss, either with or without medication.

Does this really need to be another thread?

You cannot get Ozempic unless you have a diagnosis related to diabetes. Doesn’t matter what your weight is. Make an appointment with your doctor to ask about Zepound or Wegovy. Your BMI will need to be at least 27.

What is your current height and weight?

According to online calculator, 27.3-ish. 5’4”, I’ve been around 155-159ish for a while now.

With that BMI, you would also need another weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, etc.

You are actually only around 15-20 lb overweight- so it is even less likely

What is "the best" weight range to aim for, for 5'4" woman?

Most of this will depend on your insurance.
It's not hard to find a dr to prescribe it. I just gained weight because of menopause. Went from 145 to 162 at 5'4"
I have high cholesterol and triglycerides and my dr said insurance does not care about any of this.
I have UHC but our particular plan excludes weight loss meds so there is nothing I can do.

I'm going to start compounded Zepbound soon. It is very reasonably priced. I couldn't swim $1300 a month for these meds.

You can't get it or any of these medications anywhere reliably just FYI

I would say 120-140 would be pretty heathy

Ozempic is not a magic bullet, and I wouldn't advise taking it for weight loss absent an obesity problem with comorbidities.

You can literally find any doctor to prescribe it. Tell them you have PCOS. I told my doctor I am hairy, she said I have PCOS. She then wrote me up for ozempic. I am 20 lbs over weight. I refuse to use it. There is no way I am injecting myself when I am fully capable of exercising and eating right but I just choose not to. My husband is on it and it works. However, it is so unattractive. He has no muscle and no fat. He is literally bones with skin. Then he is tired all the damn time because guess what, he isn’t eating nutrients!
